THE UNITE HERE Health & Welfare Plan

Dear Member of the UNITE HERE Health & Welfare Plan,

 

The joint Union-Management Board of Trustees of the UNITE HERE Health and Welfare Plan is pleased to present this booklet to you. UNITE HERE Local 75 and all the Employers who participate have worked together over many years to build a plan that is financially healthy and sustainable, that meets the needs of our diverse beneficiaries, and that has made many improvements to coverage.

 

If you work for any of the participating Employers, you enjoy one of the best health and welfare plans in the hospitality industry.

Your Health & Welfare Plan was set up through collective bargaining between your Union, UNITE HERE Local 75, and your Employer.  It is funded through the contributions established in your collective bargaining agreement.

 

Your Plan is operated by a joint Union-Management Board of Trustees:

  • The Trustees are appointed equally by your Union and by the participating Employers.
  • The Board of Trustees is responsible for the operation of your Health & Welfare Plan.
  • The Board has the final authority to determine all questions of eligibility and payment of benefits.
  • The Board may make changes to the Plan at any time. These will be announced through “More About Your Benefits” newsletters.

 

Please refers to your booklet and newsletters.  It is only a summary of your Health & Welfare Plan.  The legal contracts and policies are the documents that rule in all cases.
